The 2014 Bathurst Motor Festival will be returnung at the Easter Holidays long week end much to the enjoyment of all motor racing entheusiasts and locals alike as this event helps keep alive the traditional home of motor racing at arguably the best track of it’s type in the world, Mt Panorama.

This event over Easter will provide up to seven different Motor Sport categories, being sprint, mini endurance, and laps against the clock. The organisers are expecting over 300 entries over all of the categories.

A non stop program has been developed and action, action, action is the catch cry of the three day Easter week end of the 2014 Bathurst Motor Festival featuring THE FORMULA 3 Australian Drivers Championship to Mount Panorama this year, forming just one part of another bumper race program at the 2014 Bathurst Motor Festival.

The official charity of the event, the 2014 Bathurst Motor Festival is Legacy, but it is noted that the entry for all spectators is FREE of charge, however spectators are asked to consider a donation to Legacy on their visit or entry to the track and paddock.

NEARLY 10,000 people enjoyed three days of Easter long weekend action at the Bathurst Motor Festival last year. On-track action with feature races from the five race and two regularity categories competing this Easter weekend as part of the Mount Panorama celebrations being conducted. So tell your relatives, and bring your friends to enjoy another great Easter Holiday long week end, at the 2014 Bathurst Motor Festival.

The National Motor Racing Museum is celebrating 75 years of racing at Mount Panorama with a temporary exhibition featuring images and interesting facts from the Mount’s colorful and dynamic past as well as a digital display with original footage from 1938.

The National Motor Racing Museum is celebrating the Mount’s spectacular history with a temporary exhibition that will be on display from Saturday 30th March.
The exhibition encompasses various eras of racing through Mount Panorama’s 75 years. From Les Sherrin in 1938 when he wrote his name in the history books as the first winner at Mount Panorama riding his Norton, the controversial 1977 1-2 finish, through to the 2013 Bathurst 12 Hour win by Erebus Motorsport’s Mercedes.

Featured in the exhibition are over 100 images and many interesting facts from the Mount’s colourful and dynamic past as well as a digital display with original footage from 1938!

Additional interesting facts about an other iconic Bathurst event, the 12Hour Race and the event was inspired by the long running Bathurst 1000 touring car race, which began in the early 1960s as a race for cars with minimal modifications. As the Bathurst 1000 evolved the touring cars that raced moved further and further away from the minimal modifications of the original race. The Bathurst 12 Hour re-created the original feel of the Bathurst 1000, while providing a unique test in the longer distance, rather than replicating the 1000 kilometre event.

Creed: It’s going to be a movie about living in America. It’s about living good and bad, living high and low, living drunk and sober and surfing of course.

“The Night Rider” took on a whole new meaning in the surf world and the date
was the 20th of January when a Sunshine Coast surfer Mark Visser became known as “The Night Rider” and he made history being the first person to attempt a night ride at the famous surf break off Hawaii, that is known as ‘Jaws’
Known by all the locals back in Queensland as ‘Vis’, and all his efforts came to fruition at ‘Jaws’ on this day 20th of January when he took on ‘Jaws’ and won. This incredible achievement

There has been a revival of Roller Derby in of all places Bathurst where a group of girls have got together to form their own league of Roller Derby but not at the level of biffo depicted in the past.

Over many years now the Roller Derby evolution of roller skating and then racing on roller derby has evolved into a unique type of sport which you have to say has undergone several up and down cycles, and some would say “boom and bust” through out the last fifty odd years. Due to rowdiness at some events, including tripping and pushing, speed roller skating acquired a reputation for being something less than a legitimate sport. It has been a form of very physical bash, thrust and biffo, for many a TV audience to hoot, cheer and jeer” when their favorite team gets a flogging as the following YouTube video shows.

The IDF World Tour started it’s 2013 season at the world famous Mt Panorama Race Track in Bathurst. As most of the you would be aware this is the most intense riding experience on the planet with speeds regularly exceeding 100 km/h with super tight racing and danger at every turn. Every minute of the event will be broadcast via live video stream across the world as you watch competitors battling it out for prize money and the chance to lead the IDF World Tour.
